Castro British International School reaffirms its position as a benchmark in sustainable education and renews its Green Flag certification

O Castro British International School, located in Mos, has just renewed its Eco-Schools Green Flag, an international recognition that distinguishes educational centres for their commitment to sustainability, environmental education and continuous improvement in caring for the environment.

The ceremony was attended by the Councillor for the Environment of the Mos Town Council, Laura Méndez, who congratulated the educational community ‘for their teamwork, perseverance and commitment to protecting the environment, which make this school an example for the whole municipality’.

During the Green Flag raising ceremony, the school's Ecology Committee took centre stage: the students explained the actions they had carried out in recent months and shared their plans for the future, once again demonstrating their leadership and enthusiasm.

O Castro British International School was awarded the Green Flag for the first time in 2022, after three years in the ADEAC Eco-Schools programme. Since then, it has maintained its commitment to reducing energy consumption and waste production, promoting healthy lifestyles and actively involving its Eco Committee, which leads awareness-raising initiatives both inside and outside the classroom.

Our spacious Green Zone is also a fundamental space for learning and socialising, carefully maintained by the school community and has become a symbol of the school's environmental commitment.

With this renewal, O Castro British International School reaffirms its position as a benchmark in sustainable education, while consolidating its role as a school committed to respecting the environment and educating new generations in the values of sustainability.
