Welcome to O Castro British International School
O Castro British International School is a private, secular, international school in Vigo, Galicia. We offer a world-class education for students ages three to 18. We provide a broad and balanced educational programme, specially tailored to meet the needs of each individual student. A campus designed for success
Our spacious campus is located on the edge of Vigo city, close to the University of Vigo. With over 10 km2 of grounds, our buildings and facilities have been carefully designed to create one of the most modern and well-equipped schools in the city.
With nature trails, expansive sports facilities, technology lab, dance studio, music rooms, art studios and more, our students have everything they need to pursue their interests and flourish in the school environment.
Academic excellence since 2008
The first British school in Vigo, O Castro was founded in 2008 by Maria Carmen Vázquez González. The school follows the English National Curriculum and is fully accredited by the Galician government, the British Council, and NABSS (the National Association of British Schools in Spain). O Castro is one of the founding members of Globeducate British International Schools, a group dedicated to excellence in British education across Europe. In 2014, the school was certified as the only Cambridge School in Galicia. In 2017, O Castro British International School joined Globeducate, one of the world’s leading education providers. Globeducate owns and operates more than 55 international schools in nine countries.
