Early years at O Castro British International School

Early years education forms the basis of a child’s learning throughout their school years. At this stage of their education children develop emotionally, physically, socially and cognitively. Each student’s progress is individually monitored and they work at their own pace in a warm, friendly, supportive and stimulating environment.
We believe that a strong and positive home-school relationship is essential to your child’s progress. We pride ourselves on having close relationships with all our parents, and we work hand in hand with each family to guide our students on their school journey. Our early years team is made up of a great team of professionals whose main aim is to motivate and inspire your child.

Early years curriculum

The Early Years Foundation Stage is made up of Nursery and Reception Classes. At this age, students learn through play, discovering the world around them, experimenting with different practical activities and improving motor skills. The curriculum focuses on English language learning through songs and games along with creative activities or music.

English Immersion and Spanish tuition

Full immersion in the English language is a fundamental part of our educational programme. At this age, learning new languages comes naturally to children, and English is learnt in a holistic way from the moment your child joins the school. Daily immersion and stimulating activities foster a positive attitude towards language learning. Spanish also forms part of the early years curriculum from Reception Class onwards.
